Garrick Institute Summer Roundtables

This summer, the B. John Garrick Institute hosted presentations and roundtable discussions from two international Visiting Professors in the risk sciences field.  

In July, Dr. Di Zhang, Associate Professor at Wuhan University of Technology in China, graciously gave two presentations. The first introduced WUT and the maritime risk studies and research conducted at the National Engineering Research Center for Water Transport Safety (WTS Center). The following week, Dr. Zhang discussed “Congestion risk analysis of inland waterways” with a lively Q&A.

Professor Enrico Zio, presented his research on Earthquake and Facilities Safety in August. He is an expert in Safety Engineering and Nuclear Engineering, and President and Rector's delegate of the Alumni Association at Politecnico di Milano. Dr. Zio is also Director of the Chair on Complex Systems and the Energy Challenge at Ecole Centrale Paris and Supelec, Foundation.
