 Abstract

This dataset provides the Cumulative Absolute Velocity (CAV) table for the NGA-Subduction records. Each record is identified by the NGAsubRSN key, which corresponds to the identical key in the NGA-Subduction Database (Bozorgnia et al. 2022). The structure and content of the NGA-Sub database is described in Mazzoni et al. (2021), and contributions related to source/path parameters and site parameters are presented in Contreras et al. (2021) and Ahdi et al. (2021), respectively. A comprehensive report on the database is presented by PEER (2020).

The Cumulative Absolute Velocity (CAV) was computed using the method proposed by Campbell and Bozorgnia in 2012 (Earthquake Spectra, Volume 28, No. 2, pages 457–485, May 2012; © 2012, Earthquake Engineering Research Institute). CAV is defined as the integral of the absolute value of acceleration for the total duration of the ground-motion record. The standardized version of CAV, CAV_STD, also included in the data table, prevents low-amplitude, non-damaging ground motions from contributing to the value of CAV. CAV values were computed for all three components of ground motion, where available.
