Workshop on Quantifying Global Catastrophic Risks

The topics to be presented and discussed will address the requirements, methods, challenges, and benefits of quantifying global catastrophic risks with examples. While much has been written about such risks, little of the focus has been on their quantification, the essential precursor to meaningful policy or practices for managing global catastrophic risks. Other issues to be discussed are views on which global risks are considered to be the greatest threat, those believed preventable or that can be mitigated, and those considered the most likely pathways to existentialism.

The workshop is embedded in the front end of the one week PSAM 14 conference PSAM 14, September 16-21, 2018.
